Vermillion County delivers fast connections in every direction
Vermillion County has excellent connections to everywhere your business needs to be. If over-the-road transportation is critical, you’ll have access to highly efficient ways to move raw materials in and finished products out. For example, Interstate 74 provides quick east-west access, and the Interstate 70 corridor is just minutes to the south, providing a rapid route to anywhere from Maryland to Utah. Indiana’s divided Highway 63 and Route 71 are high-quality north-south backbones.
CSX Transportation provides rail links to the nation, with existing rail service to Vermillion Rise Mega Park from the south and east sides of the Park, and an existing rail spur. In addition, Indiana’s three modern port facilities — one on Lake Michigan and two on the Ohio River — are within a half day’s drive of Vermillion County.
Shippers needing air access will appreciate the proximity of Indianapolis International Airport (KIND), with its FedEx hub and global air cargo providers. Airports in nearby Terre Haute (KHUF) and Lafayette (KLAF) are also equipped to handle large cargo jets, with Terre Haute’s facilities able to accommodate Boeing 747s. Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (KORD) is a half-day’s drive away, with global passenger and cargo service. Locally, Clinton Airport (1I7) has a 3,750-foot paved runway for general aviation use.
